Quinn the Legend
“Their pawprints leave marks deeper than time.”

Many of us have memories of pets or animals that we loved. Pets can be family members, beloved companions for the limited time they’re with us. Certain animals have real charisma and presence. Quinn the Husky/Malamute mix was one of those.
Quinn, the Husky as big as a tiger. Or that's how I remember him, since I was a small child when he died in the early 80's. Quinn moved like a tiger, too, with a gorgeous, confident gait.
Big, charismatic, handsome, alpha male who sired puppies and roamed the neighborhood as if he owned it. We had to build a 6-foot fence around the entire yard to keep him contained.

Quinn drove my dad crazy with his indifference to attempts at asserting dominance. But he went everywhere with us, even to Canada, where another artist Fen Lansdowne, sketched him as he lay on the lawn.
Quinn kept company with another legendary animal in our family: Makah the Raven. You can just make out Makah in the picture on the right.
I grew up with a menagerie of animals and the memories of my relationships with them are emerging as I make my way through the family archives.
What animals or experiences of animals have shaped your view of the world or inhabit your memories? What are ways to honor this?
